Thanks man, this was very touching. I have learned as much or more from my students, such as you, as you guys have learned from me. It's a two-way relationship.
Very heartfelt stuff! It's important to look back over our shoulders, just to remember on whose shoulders we are standing. That's probably one too many shoulder-based analogies for today, but the idea here is sound, and this is well done.
I can imagine being in a classroom with Alejandro in the lead of learning. I learn so much from his posts. Fully aware that there is so much more under the words of his posts, that he could pull the rug from under my infant comprehension of his teaching, I know that he never will. His objective is democracy. He truly wants me (and you, and you, and you) to understand and grow.
You also remind me that the acorn falls close to the tree. Your parents represent the most painstakingly difficult thing parents can give a child—the benefit of careful emotional and mental intimacy and “being thereness.” They were your first teachers and got you ready for Alejandro.
This post explains a lot about your power as a writer, your confidence, your eagerness to connect on a deep level. You have a long life ahead if things go according to schedule, and you are perfectly poised to compete at a very high level, never losing your common touch.
One day we were a bunch of friends that didn't know what was coming and 6-7 years after we were a bunch of friends that didn't know what was coming, but with confidence and wifes.
You know it has been a pleasure for me to share so many and so good years of my life with you. I'm always watching your progress from the Black Pearl :P

Good to know. Thanks for all the effort you put into education. It is very inspiring.

Thanks, Andrew.
