This was great, Alberto. I haven't read Slow Productivity, but I started practicing it last year. I'll probably check out Feel Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal. It's probably a spin on the same topic, but I like the guy and want to get his book.

I probably didn't get much out of Atomic Habits because I already have slow productivity. I do a few things, and I'm used to them. I'm not trying to optimize for making habits for 10 different new things. That wouldn't be slow anymore.

The Three Alarms is basically how I try to live every day. When I read your summary, it seemed to be about me. Thanks!

The Art and Business of Online Writing sounds interesting. I've been following Nicolas and Dickie for some time and subscribed to their newsletter, but I never read the book.

Thanks for the great suggestions!

Feel Good Productivity is on my list as well.

It just keeps expanding.

I'm glad it this post resonated with you, Akos.

I love Atomic Habits, going to explore these other books you recommended. Your poll got me thinking....I read too few books, so I'm going to read more this year :)

I read 4 books last year. I'm aiming for 24 in 2025. So, about two every month. I think it's totally doable.

I'm aiming for 12, 1 a month. But that's just numbers, just make sure we read everyday, that's how we get it done!

I read:

The lean startup by Eric Ries - needs no introduction

Good strategy, bad strategy by Richard Rummelt - a book about creating and executing strategies. My favorite takeaway was that a good strategy utilizes/exploits an advantage that you have in order to tip the scales in your favour.

The way if the superior man by David Deida - sounds toxically masculine but it’a actually a lot about soul searching and relationships. Great read!

The lean startup has come up a lot lately. I'll make sure to check out the rest as well.

Thank you so much!

If you are interested in the lean startup, but you are not ready to pull the trigger and invest the time to read it, I recommend β€œPretotype it” (not a typo). There’s even a free version of it. It’s a very similar concept, written by a different person, in parallel

Great recommendations Alberto! Thanks for sharing

I read Slow Productivity and Atomic Habits and I loved both of them. Specially Atomic Habits, which helped me develop healthy habits.

Atomic Habits also taught me the importance of consistency to achieve exceptional results.

If you just read 30 mins a day in 10 years you would read 440 books (assuming 1 page per minute)

If you run 1 mile daily for 10 years you would cover 3,650 miles, which is equivalent distance of running 140 marathons.

Small and consistent actions + time = exceptional results.

I even wrote a post in my substack about it :)

Love all the books you included here, especially Atomic Habits πŸ’–

This is the first time I heard about "The Three Alarms" but I love the gist based on your post! 'Mastery' by Robert Greene is also on my TBR list πŸ’— (So far, I've checked out his other books: 'The 48 Laws of Power' and 'The Laws of Human of Nature' but I haven't finished them yet 🫠)

My favorite read from 2024 is "Building a Second Brain" by Tiago Forte 🀍 it's the biggest inspiration for me to become a creator too and not just be a passive consumer.

Some of my all-time favorite books include:

- On the Shortness of Life - Seneca

- Man's Search for Meaning - Viktor Frankl

- The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho

- The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-ExupΓ©ry

I will add Tiago Forte's book to my list also.

I've read the alchemist and the little prince. Both are must-reads.

LOVE Atomic Habits. It's had a big impact on me as well. Another book I read last year that I absolutely loved was The ONE Thing. It helped me ditch multi-tasking and lock in on my goals. I highly recommend it. I'll have to check out the other books you mentioned!

I've read a bunch this past few months related to writing and online business: Million Dollar Weekend (Noah Kagan), Copywriting Secrets (Jim Edwards), $100M Offers and $100M Leads (both by Alex Hormozi), On Writing Well (William Zinsser), Be Obsessed or Be Average (Grant Cardone), and a whole bunch of philosophy and stoicism books too. And then dozens of books and literature related to leadership as part of writing my own book :)
